Previous crates have held up well, so far doing great. Only complaint is the floor, we ended up putting sidewalk pavers down and solved the problem. We did pick up a second one for travel, without the pavers.
I have a large dog and he can not get out, it is indeed escape roof. He like it for a bed and the side door makes it easy for him to go in and out. Easy assembly and cleaning. It has metal bars, not wire. Strongly recommended.
